Heavy rains across Tanzania are making life very difficult for locals. Teacher Regan, our Social Worker, is struggling to get around the suburbs to visit sponsored children living in foster care. Worryingly, when he finally reached some of the families, he found that their homes had suffered severe damage, including collapsed walls.
Our normally robust pick-up has also failed to wade through the sludge. Yesterday, on a trip to our farm, staff and young volunteers were stuck for 8 hours, returning late in the evening with torn clothes* and *caked in mud*! They were not pleased, and that’s putting it kindly.
