Putting aside the usual high achievers amongst this year’s secondary school graduates, these two boys, Lukumani and Jordan, have most impressed.
They arrived at Kijana Kwanza at the end of 2019, one orphaned and the other a runaway, and to say they struggled at school would be an understatement. At most, they were expected to scrape through.
So when results came out last week, not only did both of them pass, but they scored Division 3 (equivalent to Grade B), much to their teachers’ surprise. As a reward, they will both be joining a football academy for the next 3 months, whilst they prepare for the next stage in their learning.
