With the sighting of the crescent moon in Tanzania, Kijana Kwanza is proud to launch its annual commemorative song to mark the start of Ramadan.
Ya Ramadhani was written and produced by Hamadi Sadiki Baruti, a graduate of Kijana Kwanza, and this year’s production features 10-year-old orphaned twins, Hassan and Hussein, who were rescued by Kijana Kwanza in October 2023 from an abusive home.
The song portrays Hassan and Hussein‘s arrival at Kijana Kwanza, following the death of their parents, and its words serve to teach the twins the purpose, values and traditions of Ramadan.
