With the foundations of the residential blocks of Kijana Kwanza’s new children’s home complete, construction has now moved on to erecting the ground floor walls.
Based in Shabaha District of Kilimanjaro Region, the project will rescue up to 120 children aged 5-12 years each year, who are orphaned, abandoned or child victims of abuse.
The children’s home will provide emergency shelter and prioritise family reunification and fostering as an alternative to long-term institutional care. In this way, we will ensure that there is ALWAYS space to rescue more children with no place to call home.
