Ensuring that children and young people – particularly those that have endured trauma such as physical and sexual abuse in their lives – is paramount.
This week, staff and volunteers of Kijana Kwanza and Halima Orphanage attended a 2-day training programme on Child Protection and Safeguarding led by the Senior Social Welfare Officer of Moshi Municipality.
As part of the short course, they were instructed on the rights of children, how to recognise signs of trauma and abuse, and ways in which to manage and report incidents of concern.
