Happy Nane Nane (8/8) Day

The first ever major harvest on our farm.

Nane Nane (literally meaning ‘Eight Eight’) is a national holiday in Tanzania on 8 August each year, which recognizes the contribution of farmers to the nation.

Over 80 children and young people sponsored by Kijana Kwanza, are spending the day volunteering on Shabaha Farm to harvest 7-acres of maize crop.

This is the first ever major harvest on our farm, and brings Kijana Kwanza one step closer to achieving our 5 year goal of becoming food sustainable.

Happy Nane Nane Day!
