No Ramadan is complete without the ubiquitous samosa (known as sambusa in Swahili), which is a staple on our iftar (the fast-breaking meal) menu at Kijana Kwanza.

Three of our primary school children, Hayrathi, Brayan and Hajra are learning how to make sambusa today. Mama Juma, our indefatigable cook, is patiently teaching them the technique of folding the pastry, with some interesting results!

Wishing our Muslim donors and friends across the world a blessed (and tasty) Ramadan.
