In 2017, she lost her father to an unknown illness, and shortly after, her mother abandoned her and her two older siblings. With no choice, Sofia’s siblings had to drop out of school after primary school and start working to provide for the family. The three siblings now live together in a small mud hut with three rooms, where the mattresses are old and rotting, and there is no electricity or running water.
Despite these hardships, Sofia has big dreams. She hopes to become a teacher one day to improve education in her village, where there is a shortage of educators.
This January, Sofia will be starting secondary school, and with your support, we can help her continue her education journey and achieve her dreams.
