There’s no garden gloves in sight for these young lads who have been misbehaving in class! The perfect punishment, administered by Teacher Mujibu, is the unenviable task of weeding 7 acres of maize fields on Shabaha Farm, managed by Kijana Kwanza.

With Farmer Idrisa exhausted, there’s a new mantra in town: “no food without farming“. So, it’s all hands on deck to make sure we can harvest a bumper first crop to kick-start our 5-year goal: to become entirely self-sufficient and feed all the children and young people in our care.

But with Jordan and Iddi hiding behind the cow shed, it seems that not everyone is pulling their weight!
