This morning, we received news that 15-year-old Deogratias’ mother, passed away. Her death leaves him and his 2 younger brothers, aged 4 and 7, orphaned. Deogratias has been supported via our community based sponsorship programme since last year, following the death of his father.
Tomorrow afternoon, our young people will attend the funeral to extend their condolences. Meanwhile, Teacher Regan, our Social Worker, is making plans to find suitable accommodation for all the children – either at our shelter, or if possible, with a relative or foster family.
Donations towards funeral costs and the children’s care are welcomed.
