Following last week’s appeal to support a 14 year old girl who had been raped by her stepfather and then abandoned in hospital after giving birth, Gloria and Kusunia, two social workers from Kijana Kwanza have been supporting the young mother.
They have rented a room for her, close to a sympathetic relative who will check-in on her regularly, and have provided mum and baby with everything they need, including food, clothing and toiletries.
Once settled, we will explore opportunities for vocational training so that the young girl can provide for her child long-term.
