When considering which child should receive our support via sponsorship, we do not take the child’s academic performance into account. Our selection criteria is solely focused around the child’s needs. The reality is often that the children who come from the most disadvantaged backgrounds have not previously had the opportunity to commit to studies.
Maths is a weakness for many students in Tanzania. Johanes, who is in his first year at secondary school, has really struggled in maths class. Fortunately, we have Fatuma, our maths teacher, available to help him and any other student who needs it, with one-to-one tuition.
