Kijana Kwanza (Young People First) is recruiting new members to its UK Board of Trustees to support the growth and strategic development of the organisation.

This is a VOLUNTARY role, requiring an average commitment of 8 hours/month, mostly on a flexible basis. Trustees will, however, need to attend quarterly Board meetings which normally take place virtually on the second Saturday in January, April, July and October from 9:30am to 12:00pm.

Trustees are not involved in the day to day running of the organisation. They provide support and accountability for the operations of the organisation, offering professional guidance in their respective areas of expertise. For more information on the role and responsibilities of Trustees, refer to the UK Charity Commission document here.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have knowledge or experience in the following areas:

  • Safeguarding and Child Protection
  • Legal Compliance
  • Marketing & Fundraising
  • Finance
  • Children’s Services & Youth Work
  • Education, Informal Learning and Vocational Training

Applicants MUST be British Citizens.

To apply for this role, please submit a CV and Covering Letter by no later than 14 April 2024 by email to admin@kijana-kwanza.org. Letters should be addressed to Jessica Banfield, Chair of the UK Board of Trustees.
